Winding Down

DSC_2083It seems like just yesterday that we arrived, and now camp is almost over. We are all filled with a mixture of emotions, whether we’re excited to see our families or sad at the thought of leaving our new friends.

Things are winding down. For me, yesterday was the last musicianship class. Instead of discussing triads or the lives of composers, my class watched a film that most of us were familiar with: “The Phantom of The Opera.” It seemed to me that the underground hallways of the Opera House were strikingly similar to the confusing hallways of the Schaefer Find Arts building, where most of our classes take place.

After a day of rehearsals, the evening was wrapped up with a recital consisting of various student ensembles. They were very diverse and contained band and orchestra students as well as those who are studying voice. These groups have been rehearsing all month, and their performances were excellent.
